In 2023, he was suspended after he threw uncooked dal at the podium of the speaker while raising allegations of a Rs. 700 crore scam in the purchase of the pulses for the mid-day meal scheme. Mohan Charan Majhi later denied throwing the dal and said that he only presented it to the speaker.

  • He has served as the president of the Yubajyoti Club and Baba Dhabeleswar Mahadev Temple Committee, Raikala, Odisha.
  • In 2021, he survived country-made bombs thrown at his vehicle by two miscreants on a bike. He described the incident, in an interview, and said,

    The incident happened at around 11am while I was returning home. The duo hurled two bombs. One of them also had a pistol in hand, but fled when my PSO gave chase.”
