• Rajshree Yadav was born in Rewari, Haryana, and raised in New Delhi.

• Her husband, Tejashwi Yadav, was her schoolmate in Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram. After 8th grade, Tejashwi left his studies, whereas Rajshree completed her studies till graduation.

• After completing her graduation, she worked as a cabin crew member in the aviation industry. She was an air hostess, where her charming personality and dedication to her job earned her many admirers.

• In 2017, a photo of Rajshree and Tejashwi Yadav went viral, in which political and media people started targeting Tejashwi Yadav. They began asking about the girl in the photo and his frequent trips to Delhi. Allegations were also made that Tejashwi Yadav frequently goes to Delhi but does not stay at Bihar Bhavan because Bihar is a dry state; he goes to Delhi to attend parties.

• Rajshree and Tejashwi dated for about 12 years before getting married. They kept their relationship very private.

• They got married on 9 December 2021, in a private ceremony attended by their close ones. According to some media reports, Tejashwi Yadav had received around 44,000 marriage proposals on social media, but he rejected them all for Rajshree.

• After marriage, Rajshree left her cabin crew job and decided to focus on her family and support her husband’s political career

• She changed her name from Rachel Godinho to Rajshree Yadav. After their marriage, in an interview, her husband mentioned that it was her decision to change her name. He added that “people of Bihar will find it easier to pronounce.” He also mentioned that the name was suggested by his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav.

• Their marriage also faced political criticism as Rajshree belongs to a Christian community. Tejashwi’s maternal uncle, Sadhu Yadav, said,

Lalu Yadav calls others “bhakchonhar,” but the biggest “bhakchonhar” is Tejashwi Yadav. His marriage to someone from another religion has not only tainted the family but the entire society. Didn’t he find a girl in his own community? Now Tejashwi Yadav should give up his dream of becoming the Chief Minister of Bihar.”

• In 2023, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Tejashwi Yadav’s house as part of the land-for-job scam investigation. At the time, his wife, Rajshree, was nine months pregnant. During the raid, she was not allowed to rest for several hours. Lalu Prasad Yadav expressed his anger over the situation, alleging that the BJP’s ED made his pregnant daughter-in-law sit for 15 hours. After the raid was over, Rajshree was admitted to the hospital.

• In the 2025 Bihar assembly election, Rajshree cast her vote for the first time for her husband and also grabbed public attention during her husband’s election campaign.
