• During his college days, Sanjay Saraogi joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and served in various positions for 10 years.

• In 1999, he was appointed as the District Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

• In 2001, Sanjay Saraogi began his tenure as President of the Darbhanga Municipal Board, a position he held as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
