- He grew up in a film and television production environment under the Sagar family banner. He later joined the family production house Sagar Arts as part of its second-generation management team.
- In 1987, he worked as co-producer of the television series Ramayan, which was written and directed by his father.
- The series starred Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, Sunil Lahri, Arvind Trivedi, and Dara Singh in main roles. The show was based on Valmiki’s Ramayana and Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas.
- Between 1987 and 1988, the series was telecast on Indian television and became widely watched. In 1993, he was associated with the fantasy television series Alif Laila, produced by Sagar Arts.
- In 2008, Anand Sagar directed and produced a remake of the television series Ramayan. Apart from television, Sagar Arts also produced Hindi films under the family banner.
