• Anshul Mittal is a Chartered Accountant, educator, and mentor known for helping students understand ACCA and commerce-related subjects through his classes, YouTube channel, and online communities.

• Anshul grew up in Panchkula, Haryana.

• During his school years, he was part of an orchestra. He knows how to play the piano, drums, and conga.

• In 2007, while studying in Class 12, he started preparing for Chartered Accountancy.

• After completing Class 12, he applied to Panjab University and Delhi University.

• He secured a place among the top-ranked students at the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Chandigarh, a constituent college of Panjab University.

• He initially pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) as a regular student while continuing his CA preparation.

• As it became difficult to manage college and CA preparation together, he decided to continue his bachelor’s degree through correspondence from his second year so he could devote more time to his CA studies.

• His CA journey came with its share of hardships. However, with the support of his family, he was able to overcome those challenges and continue working towards his goal.

• In 2013, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and later trained under a practising CA in Chandigarh.

• Anshul never saw himself following a conventional 9-to-5 corporate career. He started his own practice from home after becoming a CA.

• Teaching gradually became an important part of his professional life. Even when he later took up other professional roles, he continued teaching.

• He worked as a Senior Consultant at EY in the Greater Delhi Area from June 2016 to October 2017.

• Anshul later joined the Academy of Commerce (AOC) in Gurgaon.

• While teaching at AOC, he started recording complete classes and uploading them to YouTube, making his lessons accessible to students beyond his own classroom.

• It was during his time at AOC that he came across the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). As he learned more about ACCA, Anshul noticed a gap in the information available to students.

• The ACCA pathway could be complicated and many students struggled to find clear and reliable guidance. In his experience, the gap was not limited to students and extended to some educators and coaching providers as well.

• Anshul also became concerned about students spending significant amounts on ACCA coaching without always having the clarity and depth of information they needed to make informed decisions about their careers.

• He discussed the knowledge gap and the lack of clear guidance around ACCA with one of his seniors at AOC. Instead of simply pointing out the problem, he decided to use his own experience as an educator to address it.

• Anshul uploaded his first YouTube video explaining ACCA and continued creating videos to help students understand the qualification, its requirements, career opportunities, and the steps involved in pursuing it.

• He also created a free Telegram channel where students could join, learn, ask questions, and interact around ACCA-related queries.

• As he continued sharing ACCA content for free, students from different parts of India began joining his YouTube and Telegram communities.

• His detailed explanations and teaching style resonated with students and his Telegram channel eventually grew to thousands of students. It, however, became difficult for him to manage everything on his own, so he eventually handed over the channel to other mentors.

• Over the years, his consistent focus on teaching and sharing knowledge helped him build a strong identity among students. What started as an effort to make ACCA information more accessible eventually laid the foundation for ‘ACCA with Anshul.’

• In March 2020, Anshul decided to open a teaching institute in Gurgaon. He had already finalised a location and paid an advance for the premises, but the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown changed those plans.

• He later returned to Panchkula, where he continued teaching Class 11 and 12 students and creating educational content for YouTube.

• Over time, Anshul made a name for himself through his work in education and his efforts to make ACCA-related knowledge more accessible. He even began receiving partnership proposals from people and organisations across India.

• One of the partnership proposals was worth around ₹2.5 crore. He chose not to accept it as he felt it was primarily a financial agreement. He was concerned that while he would receive the financial benefit, the student community he had built might not receive the same level of attention or guidance.

• In 2022, he received a partnership proposal from a person based in Kerala, which focused on teaching and expanding ACCA knowledge. Since it aligned with his own work and approach, he accepted it.

• Anshul’s YouTube channel has grown to more than 380,000 subscribers. He has published more than 1,200 videos covering ACCA and related topics.

• Anshul’s areas of expertise include Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, IFRS, Cost Accounting, Project Management, and filing Income Tax Returns.

• Alongside ACCA, Anshul also introduces students to the basics of trading, including how to get started, what they need to understand before entering the field, and the knowledge and requirements involved.

• He also guides students on education and career-related matters, even when they do not formally study from him.

• As his student community grew, so did the number of messages and comments he received. Replying to students is part of his morning routine, and he makes it a priority to respond to as many as he can.

• Anshul places importance on legal awareness in his guidance to students. He also helps students who are dealing with fraud, disputes, or similar issues navigate the appropriate legal channels.

• His understanding of legal matters has also helped him handle situations related to his own work. At one point, Kaplan, an educational services company, questioned his use of one of its books while teaching students and sharing lessons online for free.

• He then looked into the relevant legal aspects and case studies and addressed the matter accordingly, after which it was resolved. The experience reinforced his belief that educators should also understand the legal aspects of their work.

• Anshul has received invitations to speak at corporate meetings, but he does not usually accept them when he feels the purpose is primarily to add his name to an event rather than provide a meaningful opportunity to share knowledge.

• He is more inclined to visit colleges, universities, and educational organisations where he can interact directly with students, explain ACCA, clear misconceptions, and answer their questions.

• Anshul believes knowledge should not be unnecessarily held back and that quality education should not be limited by a student’s ability to afford expensive coaching, which is why he has made much of his educational content available for free.

• Alongside his education-related work, Anshul also works as an exclusive recruitment partner with some companies.

• He has a strong interest in technology and makes an effort to stay updated with new developments. His friends often turn to him for advice when they are considering buying a new device or gadget.

• Anshul has kept the phones and tablets he has used over the years, including some of the first devices he owned.

• Anshul is married to Esha Khosla, an MBA graduate in Finance. The two first met in Delhi through their cousins and gradually developed a bond that eventually led them to marry.

• Anshul Mittal believes there is still a lot that can be done to make the ACCA pathway easier to understand and navigate, so that students and educators can make informed decisions about it.

• He hopes to contribute further to the field and has considered establishing an institute or university focused specifically on ACCA education.
