  • In an interview, she said that every Thursday, her school used to prepare for the show ‘News and Education’ run by Times of India where people from different work backgrounds came and interacted with the students. When she was in class seven, a person came to her school and asked her to give a reaction to seeing Michael Jackson. After seeing her reaction, her friends and classmates were impressed by her and she became popular in school. This was the time she realized that she could make people laugh with her acting.

  • While growing up, her parents wanted her to do well in studies so she never argued with them and did as they said.
  • After completing her graduation, she worked for a bank for a year.
  • When she started pursuing her post-graduation, theatre being part of her course gave her a platform for acting. In the theatre class, she met the same person who came to her school and asked to do the gig. She approached him and he also recognized her. However, the theatre became an important subject for her in college. She used to take part in many plays, direct plays and even her thesis was in theatre.
  • After passing out, she joined a theatre group ‘Version One Dot Oh!’ After working there for three years, one of her friends suggested that she should go to Mumbai and work as an actor because she was not fit for the type of actress the Kannada industry was looking for.
  • After living in Bangalore for 15 years, she went to Mumbai, but her life in Mumbai was not easy at all. In an interview, she said that in Mumbai it is very difficult to take admission in a theatre group if there are no recommendations. In the beginning, she used to have very little work because of this she faced a lot of financial issues. She never gave up and did not have a plan B because she just wanted to do acting.
