Controversies | • She was removed from the post of Advisor to the Deputy CM of Delhi on Education by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. AAP claimed that BJP removed her as they were trying to suppress women and did not want reforms to happen in the education field. BJP responded to this by saying that Atishi was removed as there was no official post of an Advisor to the Deputy CM of Delhi, and if the Delhi Government creates any such post in future, they will be happy to reinstate Atishi. • In May 2019, a pamphlet was distributed in the East-Delhi constituency, containing derogatory remarks about Atishi, Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal. AAP held a press conference and accused that these pamphlets were distributed by Atishi's opponent for the Lok Sabha Elections, Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir dismissed these allegations and challenged that if proven that he had distributed the pamphlets, he'll quit politics. • On 5 April 2024, the Election Commission issued a show-cause notice to her against her statement that the BJP approached her to join the party. The Elections Commission's move came after the BJP approached the commission, calling it a 'false statement.' [3]Business Standard On 28 May 2024, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court summoned her to appear before the court on 29 June 2024. [4]Hindustan Times • In October 2024, Atishi was accused by the Lt Governor of New Delhi of illegally occupying Bungalow Number 6, where Arvind Kejriwal used to live when he served as the CM. According to sources, on 7 October 2024, Atishi moved into the residence with her luggage without any prior approval. On 9 October 2024, she was asked to vacate the house following which it was sealed by MCD. Lt Governor, in his official statement, said that the Bungalow was not the official residence of the CM of Delhi and could be allotted to anyone as per the requirement.
