• From her student days, she was active in student politics via AISA (All India Students’ Association), which is aligned with leftist and Marxist-Leninist politics.

• In 2012, she contested in the Patna University Students’ Union election under AISA and finished second.

• She had worked as an assistant professor at Patna Women’s College for 3.5 years.

• In 2018, Divya cleared the 64th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam and was posted as Supply Inspector in the Bihar government. She later resigned from that role to engage in social work rather than continuing in government service.

• Divya is a cousin of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and has publicly said she does not want to use Sushant Singh Rajput’s name in her political work, even though people often recognize her with that association.

• She has expressed concern over local civic issues in Digha like waterlogging, lack of streetlights, traffic, and criticizing the incumbent for inaction.

• In 2025, she is making her political entry with her first major electoral contest at the Legislative Assembly level.
