- On 14 May 2026, Dr Neelam Singh made headlines when he was arrested by the Delhi police after the family of Sunjay Kapur, a late businessman, filed a complaint against him at Vasant Kunj Police Station in New Delhi.
- Reportedly, Kapur’s family accused him of posting offensive content about Kapur’s family dispute on social media after Kapur’s death.
- After that, the police registered a case against him under Sections 303 (theft), 356(2) (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Later, Dr Neelam Singh was granted bail. His lawyer stated in a media talk that the court claimed that the case had no legal grounds. His lawyer said,
He was arrested over a post of a document which was a portion of an affidavit already filed in the court. The matter pertains to the battle between Priya Kapur and Karishma Kapoor.”

Other possible mechanisms include Kounis Syndrome (allergic reaction causing coronary spasm) and exaggerated vagal response.”
