On being questioned about it, she said that there was not a single day in her childhood when her father came home without getting drunk. She even said that her father used to beat her and her mother regularly. Upset with his behaviour, Lekha often prayed to God to take either her life or her father’s. In the form, she also mentioned that she once raised her hand on her father. When questioned about it, Lekha revealed that she did so as she could not see her father hitting her mother. ^[8]Jansatta
