• In June 2026, Lucas came into international news after his wife, Yanina Maranella, along with their children, Aarón and Ainhoa, were killed when two earthquakes struck Venezuela.

• Lucas was away on club duty, while his family was inside their apartment building in Playa Grande, La Guaira, when it collapsed.

• After hearing the news, Trejo immediately left his team’s camp and joined rescue teams searching the bodies og his family through debris.

• He also used social media and publicly asked people to help locate his family.

• The rescue workers, volunteers, friends and relative searched for nearly 70-72 hours for his family.

• Later, the authorities confirmed that his wife and children had died in the disaster.

• After the tragedy, his club Marítimo shared a tribute on Instagram and expressed support and condolences for him and his family. The club wrote,
