• Magizh Thirumeni was born and raised in a middle-class family.

• His journey in the film industry started under the mentorship of some renowned film directors and filmmakers.

• Since his young age, Magizh was keenly interested in reading literature. He used to read Tamil and Russian literary works, which inspired him to write poetry and short stories.

• In an interview, he mentioned that he wrote his first short story when he was 17 years old.

• Before film direction and script writing, he worked as a writer in a media firm.

• In an interview, he mentioned that to get a chance in the film industry as a director, Magizh often visited the offices of directors, including P. Vasu and T. Rajender, in the hope of joining their teams.

• In 2002, he got his first break as an assistant director for the film Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002), directed by Kasthuri Raja and his son Selvaraghavan.

• In 2003, he met film director Gautham Vasudev Menon, who signed him as an assistant director for his films Kaakha Kaakha (2003), Kaakha Kaakha (2006), and Pachaikili Muthucharam (2007). Magizh also considered Gautham Vasuden Menon as his mentor, as he helped him in shaping his filmmaking career.

• Magizh Thirumeni made his directional debut with a romantic film, Mundhinam Paartheney (2010).  Later, in 2012, he shifted to action thriller with the film Thadaiyara Thaakka (2012). The film didn’t do well at first and got a very poor response. Later, the film was uploaded on YouTube, and it eventually went on to become a hit.
