Controversies	Nasir-Junaid Double Murder Case [4]Jansatta In the Bhiwani district of Haryana, a Bolero vehicle was found containing two burnt bodies on 16 February 2023. These individuals were later identified as Nasir and Junaid, hailing from Ghatmeeka village in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The police then implicated Monu Manesar and four other suspects, charging them with murder. Monu, however, later escaped from his residence and managed to evade arrest. He later released a video proclaiming his innocence and alleging that he was being framed in the case. As a consequence, his name was eventually removed from both the FIR and chargesheet. On 12 September 2023, the Haryana police apprehended Monu in connection with the case; he had been on the run for several months. Following legal proceedings in Haryana, Monu was transferred to the custody of the Rajasthan police. Three Muslim men, identified as Waris, Shokeen, and Nafis, were in the car during the incident. On 18 February 2023, it was reported that Monu Manesar and his group allegedly assaulted the three men after the accident. Waris passed away while receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. Family members of the victims, however, later made serious allegations, claiming that Waris died as a result of the beating he had suffered. They asserted that Monu livestreamed the interrogation of the trio on Facebook, but later deleted the video; however, the police officials disputed the allegations, stating that Waris' death was solely attributed to the injuries sustained in the car accident. As a result, they did not register any FIR related to the alleged assault. Criminal Cases Monu Manesar is facing more than five criminal cases that have been registered against him under IPC sections 302 and 307, which pertain to charges of murder, assault, and attempt to murder.

• Monu Manesar is a member of the Bajrang Dal and a cow vigilante. He holds a prominent position within the organization. He is among the primary suspects in the 2023 Nasir Junaid murder case. In a video in July 2023, Monu asserted his intention to participate in the Mewat Brajmandal Yatra scheduled for July 2023 which allegedly caused discontent and anger among the Muslim community in Nuh following which communal violence ensued in the area.

• At the age of eighteen, Monu Manesar met Dr Dharmendra Yadav, an Akhil Bhartiy Hindu Kranti Dal member, who later became his mentor. Dr Dharmendra Yadav introduced Monu to Dr Manjeet Yadav, a significant figure in Vishva Hindu Parishad. Under the guidance of Dr Manjeet Yadav, Monu joined Bajrang Dal, where he became an active member.

• During an interview, Monu revealed a traumatic incident from his college days when he witnessed a truck filled with cows being smuggled. When the police intercepted the truck, numerous cows had already lost their lives. This deeply affected him, and he decided to put an end to cow smuggling. He gradually gained fame as a vigilant cow protector in the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. He also became a member of the Gurugram District Cow Protection Task Force in 2015.
