- Rhea Ripley grew up in the Glenelg suburb of Adelaide, South Australia.
- She liked playing sports when she was young, including soccer, rugby, netball, and karate. She played for the local soccer club Australian Fulham United.
- At the age of 15, she started watching wrestling on TV. She fell in love with the sport by watching a clip of the Last Man Standing Match between Triple H and Ric Flair at the WWE Survivor Series 2005.
- She liked the sport but got her first chance to play during a family holiday to Queensland.
- When she was 17, she attended a tryout for Riot City Wrestling (RCW), an independent pro wrestling promotion based in Adelaide where she was selected.
