The women’s fours team at CWG 2022 comprised Lovely Choubey (lead), Pinki (second), Nayanmoni Saikia (third), and Rupa Rani Tirkey (skip). Rupa Rani works as the Director of Sports & Youth Affairs in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand.
  • Rupa did not start her career with lawn bowl. In an interview, she talked about this and said,

    Before joining lawn balls, I played kabaddi and basketball at the national level. Meanwhile, a well-wisher told me about lawn ball. I didn’t know about this game then. I liked it when I started playing.”

  • In an interview, Rupa Rani said that the position of a skipper in the team is very challenging. She said that they were provided coaching till 2018 but after the Covid-19 pandemic, due to a lack of funds at the federation, they trained themselves.
