- Ruturaj began his practice at an early age, and he used to practice at Vengsarkar Cricket Academy in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area in Pune.
- Ruturaj Gaikwad started playing for the team of Maharashtra. He was a part of the U-16 and U-19 teams of Maharashtra. Ruturaj played for the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy for Maharashtra, which marked his debut in first-class cricket.
