• In 2023, his name was initially nominated as a candidate for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from the Mahbubnagar local authority constituency. However, later on, his name was removed from the list of candidates.

• On 29 June 2023, Sai passed away due to a heart attack. The day before his demise, he visited his farmhouse in Karukonda, which is located in the Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, along with his family. During the late hours of the night, he started experiencing chest pain, and he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Nagarkurnool. However, his condition worsened, and he was subsequently transferred to Care Hospital in Hyderabad. Upon his arrival at the hospital, the doctors declared him dead. Following Sai’s demise, the Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao, shared his condolences with the grieving family. On Twitter, Rao shared that Sai played an important role in Telangana statehood agitation. Rao further shared that during his political events, Sai used to perform oftenly.
