  • Sébastien Lecornu was born and raised in Eaubonne, Val-d’Oise, France.
  • In an interview, Lecornu mentioned that he was very close to his Gaullist grandfather, who was a former resistance fighter and former vice-president of a chamber of commerce in Calvados, France.
  • Since childhood, Sébastien has been very passionate about the army and politics. Initially, he wanted to become a soldier. He also tried monastic life at the Abbey of Saint-Wandrille.
  • After getting a high school diploma in economics and social sciences at Saint-Adjutor Catholic school in Vernon, France, he earned a bahelor degree in law. Then he started pursuing master’s in public law at Panthéon-Assas University, but did not finish it.
  • In 2002, Lecornu started getting involved in politics by joining the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) and the Young Right group in the Vernon area. He later took part in the 2004 regional election campaign.
