  • She revealed in an interview that she faced bullying in school and college for her effeminate nature. [4]The Times of India She said in an article,

    I too have been subjected to various kinds of ‘treatment’ a transgender person would usually face from peers at school and college. My effeminate nature has often made me the butt of jokes and hurtful comments. There were many who found one reason or the other to poke fun at me, but I managed to handle it by changing the subject, laughing it off or acting as though I didn’t pay attention. I have hardly reacted to the mean comments aimed at me.”

  • Sruthy had also studied at the Navodaya Vidyalaya system in Uttar Pradesh for a year when she was in Class 9, where an incident of bullying affected her mental health so severely that the faculty of her school had to reach out to her parents.

  • On the morning of 1 December 2021, in an event held online, the Miss Trans Global title was conferred to Sruthy Sithara, who was competing in the pageant for the last six months.
