• Usha Vance’s family has its roots in Andhra Pradesh, India. Her parents relocated to the United States in the 1980s.

• She grew up in a religious family in San Diego, California.

• Usha was an academically bright student in her school and college days.

• Usha graduated from Yale University with summa cum laude.

• She held the membership of Phi Beta Kappa during her graduation years.

• Later, she attended Cambridge University in England as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. During her years at the University, she got associated with liberal groups and the Democratic Party.

• At Munger, Usha handled complex civil litigation and appeals in sectors that included higher education, local government, entertainment, and technology, including semiconductors.

• In 2020, an American drama film titled Hillbilly Elegy was released which was based on her husband’s memoir of the same name. In the film, her character was portrayed by Indian actress Freida Pinto.
