• From a young age, Vikrant Gupta aspired to become a cricketer. During his school days, he played for the Under-15 cricket team in Chandigarh.

• During his college days, Vikrant Gupta played cricket at the university and state levels.

• After graduation, he started pursuing MA in English at the Panjab University; however, he dropped out midway and began studying mass communication.

• In 1992, Vikrant Gupta was awarded a certificate from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for being a member of the Under 19 ‘Cooch Behar Trophy-winning Punjab team.
