Controversies | • Accused of threatning an air hostess In July 2015, he was accused of misbehaving with a air hostess of a Jet Airways flight. There were also claims that he threatned to hit the air hostess with slippers. The incident occured when politician reportedly spilled food on his laptop bag and asked the airhostess to clean it. Some Lesser Known Facts About Pappu Yadav
- Pappu Yadav was given the name of Rajesh Rajan at birth; however, later, his grandfather gave him the nickname Pappu.
- During his political career, he became a part of various political parties including Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Samajwadi Party, and the Lok Janshakti Party.
- In 2009, he was not permitted by the Patna High Court to contest the 2009 Indian parliamentary elections as he was convicted of murder and was expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal party on 11 April.
- He was expelled along with Anil Yadav and Rampravesh Rai for alleged anti-party activity. They were accused of working against the party’s official nominee for the Fatua assembly constituency, Ramanand Yadav.
- In September 2020, during the Bihar Assembly Elections, Yadav forged an alliance called the People Democratic Alliance (PDA) which had various parties including the Bahujan Mukti Party, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the Indian Muslim League, and the party of Dalit activist and President of Bhim Army, Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan.
- In November 2013, he published his autobiography titled Drohkaal ka Pathik. In the book, he accused three MPs of the Indian Federal Democratic Party of receiving money from the then finance minister Yashwant Sinha, to join the NDA in 2001. He also claimed that during the July 2008 trust vote scandal, the Indian National Congress and BJP had offered “Rs 400 million each” to MPs for support.
