  • A gangster named Goldy Dhillon, based in Canada and linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for his murder.

  • After the attack, Goldy Dhillon reportedly shared a post on Facebook and claimed that he was behind the murder. He alleged that the victim, Darshan Singh Sahsi, was involved in a large drug trade and had refused to give money to the gang.

  • On 29 October 2025, his family claimed that he had not received any threat calls. One of his sons said in the media,

    My father or anyone from our family never received any threat, extortion, or ransom call from any gangster, etc. No one, absolutely no one, benefits from killing my father.”
