Controversies | Suspended for Reportedly Engaging in Misconduct With A Dalit Teacher In 2014, Abhishek Singh, serving as the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Mathura, faced suspension by the Uttar Pradesh government over allegations of misconduct towards a Dalit primary school teacher named Fauran Singh. Singh was accused of summoning the teacher to his office and instructing him to perform sit-ups for failing to submit a report on time. Despite journalists' attempts to obtain a statement from the UP government spokesperson, no response was provided. Singh refuted the allegations and in an interview, he said that the accusations were incorrect. The state government later lifted his suspension. [1]The Economic Times Removal From The Post As Observer And Suspension From Service In November 2022, the Election Commission of India (ECI) relieved him from his duties as the General Observer of the constituencies Bapunagar and Asarwa during the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections. Reportedly, he was dismissed from the post after he took a picture of himself with his official car and uploaded it on social media. The ECI, in its letter, criticised him over the issue and called it a "publicity stunt." The ECI wrote, "Abhishek Singh had used Instagram for sharing his posting/joining as General Observer and had used his official position as a publicity stunt." - Abhishek Singh is an Indian actor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, rapper, and a former administrative service officer who served in the 2011-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is known for his appearance in the 2022 web series Delhi Crime 2, which premiered on Netflix.
- After completing his formal education, Singh passed the UPSC civil services exam. Thereafter, he joined the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVNPA) in Hyderabad, Telangana. There, he trained to become a police officer.
- As an IPS officer, he served in Mumbai at the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
- Abhishek Singh once again took the civil services examination at his father’s request as, according to Abhishek, his father wanted him to pursue a career as an IAS officer. He successfully passed the exams, achieving a ranking of 94 in the All India Rank (AIR).
