• Ashok Vaswani is an Indian banker who was appointed as the MD and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank for a term of three years on 1 January 2024. During his career, Vaswani has had notable roles as a retail banker at global financial institutions.

• In his early years in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), Vaswani aspired to become a spin bowler. However, he lost his father at a young age. Although his mother hoped he would pursue medicine, Vaswani opted for a career in finance.

• Once, in a media conversation, Ashok Vaswani shared his journey of working in different countries. He said,
  

  I left India with $14 in my pocket and could have never dreamed of working in so many countries. I took my first flight when I was 21, and I didn’t think my career would permit me to travel and meet so many people.”
