Controversy	Human Trafficking allegations: The Aam Aadmi Party handed Balkar Sidhu the ticket to contest the 2014 Talwandi Sabo by-poll; however, he was kicked out of the AAP after it was claimed that he was involved in Human trafficking, a charge he refuted completely. However, he was replaced by a local professor named Baljinder Kaur. During an interview, he talked about allegations made against him for human trafficking and being dismissed from the Aam Aadmi Party and claimed that all the allegations against him were baseless. He said, At the time of the by-polls, various false charges had been levelled against me but the AAP failed to prove any charge later on. Now, I will seek a reply from them by filing a case in the court for defaming me.After Punjabi comedian-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann joined AAP and later become MP from Sangrur, several actors in the state connected with the party and thought it was sincere and committed to clean the system. However, as time passed, people realised AAP is not what it used to be. They just made big promises to garner votes. They have no policy, no agenda, no programme for the people."

• Balkar Singh Sidhu is an Indian politician and singer. He is popular for lending his voice to one of the most famous hits of Punjabi music “Majhe Diye Mombatiye.” In 2022, he became a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Rampura Phul constituency of Punjab, India.

• Since childhood, Balkar Sidhu was a very athletic student who took part in every sports activity in his school, and he was a fan of Indian athlete Milkha Singh and considered him to be his idol.

• He pursued a Bachelor of Arts at Punjabi University, Patiala; during his graduation, he participated in many extracurricular activities including theatre and singing. He performed many theatre shows for Kissan Union in Chandigarh during his college days.

• In 1991, while Balkar Singh Sidhu was studying in college, he made his singing debut with the album “Karna Chhad De Pyar.”
