• Dino James is an Indian rapper, singer, lyricist, composer, and actor, mainly known for his style of storytelling in his songs.

• His parents hailed from Kerala; however, he was born and grew up in Madhya Pradesh.

• James dreamt of becoming an actor since childhood. He moved to Mumbai at the age of eighteen or nineteen, where he joined acting classes to fulfil his dream.

• Before becoming a rapper, he tried his hand in more than twenty professions including assistant director, spot boy, fitness trainer, guitar teacher, and junior artist.

• He started his acting career by working with an advertising agency and was featured in some advertisements. He also appeared in some TV shows in brief roles and as a guest. However, he later realised that he was more inclined into writing when one of his friends, Salman Firoz, told him that he could be a good writer than an actor.

• After struggling for almost 8 years in Mumbai, the rapper went back to his hometown to help his father with his work as he failed to build his career in Mumbai.

• In 2012, he came to Mumbai again with a lot of hopes to build his career and finally launched his first song “Loser” in 2016.

• Dino James got famous after the release of his song “Girlfriend” on 19 October 2016 on his YouTube channel.

• In his songs, James narrates stories which he observes from his surroundings to make his songs more relatable for the audience. He also inculcates his own life experiences in some of his songs, for example, his debut song, “Loser” (2016), is based on the struggles of his life.

• Some of his other songs include “Yaadein,” “Unstoppable,” “Hancock,” “Dooriyan,” “Kaalia,” and “Maa.”

• In 2015, James got addicted to alcohol; however, he later got rid of the addiction.

• Dino James also sang the song “Kaal Kaal” along with Brijesh Shandilya for the film “Laal Kaptaan” (2019) starring Saif Ali Khan.

• In February 2022, he announced his signing with Def Jam Recordings India and became one of the first two singers from India to represent a global hip-hop music label. On 25 May 2022, he launched his debut album, “D,” in collaboration in collaboration with Def Jam Recordings India.

• Dino James loves to play the guitar, and in the early days of his career, he used to play the guitar in small shows.

• In an interview, he said that he didn’t want to marry ever. According to him, marriage is all about compromises, and in a male dominating country like India, a woman has to compromise more, which sometimes suppresses their talents also.

• He suffered from Dyslexia when he was a child.

• Dino James participated in the stunt-based reality television series ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ (Season 13) in 2023. He was later announced as the winner of the show.
