• Hemant Modi, his brother Sachin and five other people had an argument with Ahmedabad-based Nano Yashwant Kamble or Narendra on 15 June 2005, resulting in the death of the latter.

• An FIR was lodged against Modi and others in Naroda police station in the murder case.

• The trial court found all seven accused guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment on 27 August 2008.

• He was also associated with L2: Empuraan with Mohanlal and upcoming movies like Lahore 1947 with Sunny Deol and Tu Hai Meri Kiran with Sonakshi Sinha.

• In these years, Modi left hardly a digital footprint. He avoided his relatives by cutting them out of his life, separated from his wife and rarely had contact with anyone online, making him an elusive figure to follow.
