  • Konda Lakshma Reddy hailed from Hyderabad, Telangana.
  • Reddy belonged to a family with deep political roots. He was the grandson of former Deputy Chief Minister Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy, after whom the Ranga Reddy district is named.
  • In 1980, after completing his education, Reddy founded a news agency named News & Services Syndicate (NSS) in Hyderguda, Telangana. This was the first local news agency in Hyderabad. He served as the managing director of the firm.
  • In the early 1980s, he joined politics and became an active member of the Indian National Congress. From 1983 to 1985, he served as an MLA of the Chevella constituency.
  • In the late 1980s, Konda was elected as the president of Hyderabad Press Club, where he became the voice of all the journalists of Hyderabad.
  • In the 1990s, Lakshman Reddy was appointed as the president of the Jubilee Hills Journalists’ Cooperative Housing Society, where he helped develop housing for journalists.
  • During that time, he was also appointed as the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Sports Council.
  • In 1999, he contested for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha Seat on the Congress party ticket; unfortunately, he did not win.
