Controversies	Tobacco Industry Conflict-of-Interest Allegations: In July 2022, Marriyum Aurangzeb faced controversy when she was accused of favouring the tobacco industry as Federal Information Minister because her husband, Aly Taseer, worked with Pakistan Tobacco Company. Former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry claimed that she used her position to benefit tobacco companies. He alleged that her decisions helped these companies get major tax concessions, including advantages for foreign firms operating in Pakistan.
