  • Over the years, he became the city executive member of the BJP and later assumed the role of general secretary of the Surat City BJP unit.
  • In 2005, he became a corporator for the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC). He served at the SMC for 3 tenures from 2005 to 2020 and represented the Adajan-Pal-Palanpor area.
  • He is also a member of the Surat District Cricket Association committee. 
  • In 2024, Mukesh Dalal contested in the 2024 Indian General Elections as a BJP candidate from Surat, Gujarat.
