In January 2024, Kompella Madhavi Latha came into the news after her 16-year-old son Ramakrishna Paramahamsa got into an IIT. She became known as none of her kids ever went to school and were home-schooled by her at home itself.
In an interview, she discussed how she homeschooled her children and taught them various subjects including mythology. She said,

Until my kids were nine or 10 years old, they never touched a book. I tried teaching them basic math and alphabet. I never hit my kids or even spoke to them in a higher decibel. I taught them the ‘Ramayana’, the ‘Mahabharata’, the ‘Gita’, told them ‘Panchatantra’ stories, and we sang rhymes and practised tables. I always gave them the right to question and correct me. I made sure they took up physical activities.”
