In 2009, Neetu attracted controversy when her photoshoot for a men’s magazine with model Krishikha Gupta was regarded as promotion of lesbianism. The girl-to-girl photoshoot was objected to by a group of regular male customers who were watching it by the pool. They gathered at the venue of the photoshoot and shouted slogans claiming that the photoshoot was against their culture. However, the magazine published the images even after the controversy. In an interview, she said,

Match-fixing allegations on Neetu:
In 2010, Neetu attracted controversy when she was accused of cricket match-fixing. She was linked with Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif. A report presented by the Interpol and Scotland Yard claimed that she made two phone calls and exchanged texts with Mohammad Asif. Later, she said that she did not know Asif or any Pakistani cricketer, and her name was being unnecessarily dragged in the match-fixing allegation. In an interview, she said,
