• After his father died in 2006, Nitin Nabin entered politics and contested a by-election from Patna West and won. He then became a member of the Bihar Assembly.

• He then contested for the Bankipur constituency in Bihar and won in the 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

• In March 2017, Nitin Nabin filed a police complaint against Congress leader Abdul Jalil Mastan for sedition over rally comments.

• He served as the Minister of Road Construction from February 2021 to August 2022 in the Bihar government.

• Nitin Nabin has served as the National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and the State President of BJYM in Bihar.

• During his stint in BJYM, he led youth campaigns, such as the National Unity Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
