  • At the age of 10, Phil moved to Barbados with his family.
  • Phil’s father played rugby and cricket but due to not getting much success in the sports, he later opted to become a property dealer.
  • Phil spent most of his time in England playing football, but later, when he shifted to Barbados he got more focused towards cricket.
  • Phil played for Barbados Under-15s and returned to England at the age of 15 after spending six years in the Caribbean nation.
  • At the age of 15, Phil won a cricket scholarship at Reed School in Surrey, a boarding school which helped him start his English cricket journey.
  • Salt played for Guildford Cricket Club in 2013 and joined the Sussex Academy for the 2014 English cricket season. Phil also represented Brighton and Hove Cricket Club in the same year.

  • In July 2021, after the original squad was withdrawn from the series against Pakistan after a few members tested positive for COVID-19, Phil was selected for the series where he made his ODI debut.
