Controversies• He had worked extensively on the Jain commission report, which was a report on the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, the late Prime Minister of India. His analysis of the Jain Commission report was published in the India Today Magazine, which later led to the Congress party with drawing their support from the United from Government heading Delhi. It led to the downfall of the Inder Kumar Gujral-led Delhi Government in the year 1997.
• Prabhu Chawla accepted that he knew Mississippi, and he did have conversations with Nira Radia where it is alleged that he had forewarned Mr Mukesh Ambani regarding a judgement of the Mumbai High Court in this matter. Soon after the controversy, Mr Prabhu Chawla resigned from the India Today Group.
