• Rahul Kumar was born in a low-income family in India and developed an interest in acting at a young age.

• He could not afford formal training, but he joined the NGO Literacy India in 2000 to learn acting. Literacy India offered drama classes for underprivileged children, taught by instructors linked to the National School of Drama.

• Rahul trained there regularly and prepared himself for opportunities in films.

• He was selected for Vishal Bhardwaj’s The Blue Umbrella when he was six years old.

• He then acted in Omkara as Saif Ali Khan’s son and worked with Ajay Devgn and Konkona Sen Sharma. He called the experience of acting with these senior actors a good learning opportunity.

• By the age of fourteen, he had already worked with major directors like Vishal Bhardwaj. He then received an audition call for 3 Idiots while attending a wedding in Uttarakhand.

• The team had auditioned around 800 children before shortlisting him for the role of Millimetre. He travelled to Mumbai to give his audition and later cleared the look test.

• He joined the shoot in Bengaluru and prepared to film in Goa as well. He said working with Aamir Khan fulfilled a long-awaited dream for him.

• He received support from Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and director Rajkumar Hirani on set. He was the youngest actor on the set and was often pampered by the cast and crew.

• Aamir Khan played pranks on him, including jokingly telling Kareena Kapoor that Rahul was married. Aamir also teased him by pretending to call Rani Mukerji after Rahul said she was “not very special”.
