- Ranvir Shorey shifted from Jalandhar to Mumbai when he was one year old.
- He once shared that in his childhood, his family used to live in a two-storey rented apartment in Mumbai. Later, after his father’s films failed to do well at the box office, his family suffered major financial losses.
- He was given the name Ranvir after the Indian actor & producer Raj Kapoor whose real name was Ranbir Raj.
- At the time of his school admission, his name was misspelt as Ranvir instead of Ranbir.
- During his school days, he used to participate in various stage plays.
- In his junior college, he studied science. However, he changed his subject to arts in the first year of college.
- At the beginning of his career, he worked as a segment director for the film production house Plus TV channel. He then worked in the TV show Mirch Masala TV show which aired on Doordarshan.
- In 1993, he produced the DD National Hindi TV serial ‘Mumkin.’
