Some Lesser Known Facts About Steve Jyrwa
- In childhood, Steve Jyrwa was unable to walk. However, with the support of his family, he gradually started walking.
- At a very young age, he started developing an interest in dance. In an interview, he said that his maternal grandmother supported him throughout to pursue his dream of becoming a dancer.
- He did his training in dance at the dance school Eastern Dance Icons, Shillong. At school, he mastered his footwork in dance.
- He has participated in various regional dance competitions and won most of them.
- He won the dance contest Northeast Gorkha Dancing Star organised by the Nritya Academy of Dance and Arts in 2022.
- In 2024, he won the Music In Motion dance competition in Shillong.
- In the same year, he participated in the Hindi reality TV dance show ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 4.’ He was mentored by the Indian dancer Raktim Thakuria in the show.

- The duo were declared the winner of the show in November 2024. Steve received Rs 15 lakh as a cash prize and a car. Whereas his mentor-choreographer Raktim Thakuria won Rs 5 lakh.
- On winning the show, he said that he considered his maternal grandmother (naani) his god. It was because of his naani that he could pursue his dream.
- Steve was supported by the All Meghalaya Dancers Association in the dance show.
- In his leisure time, he enjoys travelling to different places.
