- Sujoy Ghosh is an Indian director, screenplay writer, and actor who has directed many Bollywood films. He is known for portraying offbeat topics in the films.
- When he was 13, he moved to London, where he completed his formal education following which he worked as Head of the South Asia division of Reuters from 1993 to 2000.
- Before he made his entry into Bollywood, he took many odd jobs such as a math tutor, store attendant, and waiter. His first film Jhankaar Beats, starring Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Suri in the main roles, became a massive hit.
- He formed his own production house in 2005 and named it Boundscript Motion Pictures Private Limited.
- His debut production film ‘Aladin’ (based on the famous story of Aladin) starring Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, and Jacqueline Fernandez could not win critics and public acclaim.
- In 2012, his film ‘Kahaani,’ a mystery thriller starring Vidya Balan, Indraneil Sengupta, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Saswata Chatterjee received huge commercial and critical acclaim; winning three National Awards including Best Screenplay (Original) Award.
