• Buttler started playing cricket at an early age and played age-group cricket for many local clubs and school teams.

• He also played other sports and became the Somerset Under-13 tennis champion in 2000, when he was 9 years old.

• When he was young, he used to cry whenever he got out. He changed that habit over time.

• His coach Dennis Breakwell once said that Buttler’s average was around 95 as King’s captain, and he was an even better cricketer than Ian Botham at that age.

• He was appointed as the vice-captain of England in the 2019 ODI World Cup held in England. In the tournament, he scored 312 runs in 11 matches at an average of 34.67 and strike rate of 122.83 which included 2 half-centuries and 1 hundred.
