- Bansuri is the only child of Late Sushma Swaraj. She was brought up in New Delhi.
- She was named after the signature music instrument of Lord Krishna; i.e., flute; as her mother was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna.
- She practices in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India.
- Since 2007, Bansuri has been practicing law. She handles mainly civil, criminal, commercial, and tax and constitution related matters. She is affiliated with and acts as a consultant to Legasis Partners.
