  • His father was a physical education teacher but wanted to become a cricketer and represent the country. His father was a huge fan of former New Zealand cricketer Mark Greatbatch for his aggressive playing style on the pitch. He was so influenced by Mark Greatbatch that he molded his son into a left-hand batter from the right.
  • His sister, Mythreyi Niveditha gave up on her dream of becoming a doctor to help his brother pursue cricket.
  • In 2013-14, he played in his first important tournament Cooch Behar Trophy, where he scored 352 runs from his six matches in which he added three fifties to his tally.
