The ICC Cricket World Cup, the “flagship event of the international cricket calendar” by the ICC, is one of the world’s most viewed sporting events. The tournament is organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), every four years. Since the first tournament was held in the year 1975 in England, the tournament has been held for eleven times so far, the 2015 World Cup was the 11th while the 2019 World Cup would be the 12th ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. ICC also holds a separate tournament for the women. So far, the most preferred format in the tournament has been the round-robin group stage followed by the knock out stage.
