- Divya Bharti grew up in Mumbai.
- While she was in school, a few Indian celebrities like Sharman Joshi and Farhan Akhtar were her classmates.
- She was not very fond of studies in school. So, after completing her class 9, she dropped out of school.
- She then started working as a model in various photoshoots.
- In 1988, she was supposed to make her debut with the Hindi film ‘Gunaho Ka Devta.’ However, she was then dropped out of the film and was replaced by the Indian actress Sangeeta Bijlani.
- She worked as an actor for around four years.
- She appeared in various Telugu films like ‘Rowdy Alludu’ (1991), ‘Naa Ille Naa Swargam’ (1991), ‘Dharma Kshetram’ (1992), and ‘Chittemma Mogudu’ (1992).
- In 1992, she acted in many Hindi films including ‘Shola Aur Shabnam,’ ‘Deewana,’ ‘Dil Hi To Hai,’ ‘Dushman Zamana,’ and ‘Dil Aashna Hai.’

- On 10 May 1992, the couple had a nikah in the presence of a few people. She converted to Islam and changed her name to Sana. Their wedding was kept secret from the media as they believed that it would affect her career.
- Divya was replaced by the Indian actress Juhi Chawla in the Hindi film ‘Radha Ka Sangam’ (1992) for being too bubbly and childish.

Her house help was also in the apartment. Accidentally, she got imbalanced and fell off the window of her fifth-floor Apartment in Versova, Mumbai.
- However, some media sources said that she had a tiff with her husband, and her husband murdered her. Whereas some media sources claim it a suicide.
- After she fell off her apartment’s balcony, she had several injuries on her head and was alive. She was immediately rushed to R.N. Cooper Hospital. However, she died before she was brought to the hospital. Reportedly, when her husband Sajid arrived at the hospital and saw his wife dead, he suffered a minor heart attack.
- Later, her brother said that although she was depressed she could not commit suicide.
- In 1993, after her demise, a few of her Hindi films which were released are ‘Rang’ and ‘Shatranj.’
