Controversies	• In 2007, Smriti Irani made an exit from Ekta's serial "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" after a clash with Ekta. However, she was later brought back to the serial in 2008 due to fall in the ratings of the show. • Actor Pulkit Samrat who made an exit from the serial "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" had some payment issues with Ekta. He filled a case against Balaji Telefilms for not clearing his pending payments and also not allowing him to work on some other projects. • A protest was carried out by the Rajput Kshatriya Akhil Bharatiya Chatariya Sabha against the TV serial "Jodha Akbar" as they thought that false facts were being presented by Ekta in her serial. • Kapoor is often criticised for her dressing style as she flaunts clothes which are either uncomfortable or not appreciated by the people. • Ekta is also criticised for the nudity clause in her contract. she has added the clause to prevent actors backing out from doing any intimate scene or provocative dialogue in the script. • She also had a feud with Rajeev Khandelwal. This gave rise to many controversies. • On 14 October 2022, the Supreme Court of India slammed her over "objectionable content" in her web series 'XXX;' the court remarked that she was polluting the minds of the young generation. A bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and C T Ravikumar said, "Something has to be done. You are polluting the minds of the young generation of this country. It is available to all. OTT content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people?....on the contrary, you are polluting the minds of youngsters." While defending his client advocate Rohatgi said the content was subscription based and that there was freedom of choice in this country to which the bench observed, "Everytime you travel to this court....we don't appreciate this. We will put a cost on you for filing such a petition. Mr Rohatgi, please convey this to your client. Just because you can afford and hire the services of good lawyers....this court is not for those who have voices. This court works for those who don't have voices...if these people who have all kinds of facilities, if they cannot get justice, then think of the situation of this common man. We have seen the order and we have our reservations."
