• Isha Sharvani is a popular Indian actress and a well known contemporary dancer.

• She was born in Ahmedabad. Later, she moved to Delhi, Orissa, Vrindavan, Bangalore and finally settled in Trivandrum, Kerala. Isha said in an interview

I was about six years old when we went to Vrindavan. We lived in a temple complex as my mother did nrityaseva apart from studying under Sanskrit pundits. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life because of the colourful, vibrant way festivals like Holi, Janmashtami and Raas Leela are celebrated there. It was like going back 200 years in time.”

• Her father belongs to an Australian business family. He became a Buddhist bhikshu in Thailand and came to India to learn the Dhrupad (Hindustani classical music genre).

• In 1989, her parents founded an art school named- Academy for Art Research, Training and Innovation (AARTI) in Trivandrum, Kerala.
