• Nimai thought of becoming an actor after his uncle Sunil Dutt asked him if he was interested. When he decided to pursue acting, Dutt assisted him with his training in acting.

• He was initially selected for the role of ‘Mohan Agarwal’ in the 1991 film ‘Yeh Aag Kab Bujhegi,’ directed by Sunil Dutt. Dutt, however, later advised him to improve his skills further. As the film’s production could not be delayed, the role ultimately went to actor Shakti Kapoor.

  I remember it was a stormy monsoon night when I caught them together. It was raining and I stepped outside the house, asked Nimay to choose between the other woman, and my daughter and me. It took him nine hours but he decided to come back. Till then, we stood in the rain getting soaked.”

• Nimai and Sahila separated in 2017. While he blamed her alleged affair with actor Rahul Raj Singh for the separation, Sahila, in an interview, accused Nimai of being a casanova and claimed his affair with Kamya and his bad habits like smoking and drinking, influenced by Kamya, the reason for the split. Sahila said,
  

  My marriage with Nimai was troubled since the time my daughter was 5 years old, thanks to Kamya Punjabi. She taught Nimai how to smoke and drink and look where that has gotten my marriage into.”
