- In 1981, Omprakash started his political journey after getting inspired by Kashiram and, soon, he joined the Bahujan Samaj Party. In 1996, he became the district magistrate of Varanasi. He revolted against the party when the Bhadohi district was named Santarvidas Nagar and left the party in 2001 and joined Sonelal Patel’s party, Apna Dal.
