• Pranshu (2007-2023) was an Indian social media influencer who was known for his makeup videos. He was a transgender and a Pride supporter. He committed suicide in 2023.

• He started uploading makeup videos on Instagram while studying in school in 2021. When he told his mother that he wanted to become a makeup artist like his favourite makeup artist and YouTuber, James Charles, she was shocked; however, she got happy upon seeing his work.

• On the occasion of the Diwali festival in 2023, Pranshu posted an Instagram video in which he was seen wearing a saree after which many people trolled him.

• On 21 November 2023, he hanged himself with his mother’s dupatta at his home. He was studying in 10th standard when he committed suicide. Many people alleged that Pranshu ended his life due to the online trolling and hateful comments on his Instagram. Many LGBTQ+ groups paid tribute to him on social media and also carried out rallies demanding justice for him. His mother talked about Pranshu’s death and said that she was proud of him, but felt alone as he was her only child.
